The two books by Eve Bunting interest me. She seems to have written a lot of historical books for children, and they all sound good
ReplyDeleteThe book about the Vietnam Veterans Memorial looks very interesting, and I think it would be extremely relatable for students if they could read this book and actually go to the memorial or at least see pictures of it!
ReplyDeleteThe Abraham Lincoln book seems interesting because it seems to be written in a way that can allow children to see what presidents were like and how to learn about history within it.
ReplyDeleteA Day's Work looks like it would be an extremely good book to pair with the novel Return to Sender that one of our literature circle groups is reading. That book deals with the same issue and shows two differing perspectives on the immigration issue. A teacher could read the picture book first to build background knowledge before reading the novel.
