This is a book about a little girl's adventures on the beach throughout the day. The pictures are fantastic considering that Suzy Lee only uses two waters to illustrate the entire book. Children can use their imagination to pretend that they are on the beach with the little girl.

Evaluation: I would recommend this book because it will catch the interest of your child. Children love going to the beach and image all the fun things to do at the beach.


Chalk

This story enables children to use their imagination as the children in the book find a bag of magical chalk to on a rainy day. The three children start to draw with the magical chalk when the pictures start to come to life in this magical book of drawings.

Evaluation: The illustrates in this book will have children making up crazy stories to go along with the pictures. I would recommend this book to families to read to their children! The story is fun and adventuresome and will have children engaged throughout the book.





Tuesday

Frogs careen through suburbia on flying lily pads, startling witnesses and spooking a dog on this fun filled adventure that David takes the reader on. The book is ordinary mixed with the unimaginable. Children will be able to make up the text as they go along looking at the marvelous pictures.

Evaluation: I would recommend this book because of the quality that it holds. Tuesday has won three Caldecott medals for the illustrations. It went on to sell over half a million copies in the United States. This author is known for the wordless pictures that he creates and will give your family an adventure to go on.

  1. You have chosen three great wordless picture books! I love The Wave. It is so simple and yet it is just so relatable to anyone who has ever been to the beach. Did you find Tuesday funny? I love the expression on the dog's face and the lady asleep in her chair!

  3. I thought the book Chalk was a good read! It sparks children's imagination and is a good book for parents and children to bond over. They can discuss what the pictures are or what they would make if they ever found magic chalk. Chalk is definitely a good choice!
